“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God....”
[John 1:1]
Apostle John starts with the same three words that Prophet Moses in the book of Genesis starts with. "In the beginning" There is so much revelation in this Scripture that we need to bring to your notice.
This verse is making a simple comparison. The "Word"(Jesus) was present at the beginning. This Word was with God or co-equal with God. This Word was God. What Apostle John is establishing is the fact that the Word was present from the very beginning. This is making a statement of equivalency that lines up with Genesis 1:1 "in the beginning God" John 1:1 "in the beginning was the Word" Apostle John in making this comparison is simply saying that the Word who was present at the beginning was God. This is what it means that the word was in the beginning.
